More Stupid Blog Things . . .

The Keys to Your Heart

You are attracted to obedience and warmth.
In love, you feel the most alive when things are straight-forward, and you’re told that you’re loved.
You’d like to your lover to think you are optimistic and happy.
You would be forced to break up with someone who was emotional, moody, and difficult to please.
Your ideal relationship is open. Both of you can talk about everything… no secrets.
Your risk of cheating is zero. You care about society and morality. You would never break a commitment.
You think of marriage as something precious. You’ll treasure marriage and treat it as sacred.
In this moment, you think of love as something you don’t need. You just feel like flirting around and playing right now.

Amazingly enough . . . I think I agree with everything but the last statement. . . But I’m already married so it was thrown completely off! πŸ™‚

Blog Things Are Not Addictive > :) NOT

You Belong in 1974

1974

If you scored…

1950 – 1959: You’re fun loving, romantic, and more than a little innocent. See you at the drive in!

1960 – 1969: You are a free spirit with a huge heart. Love, peace, and happiness rule – oh, and drugs too.

1970 – 1979: Bold and brash, you take life by the horns. Whether you’re partying or protesting, you give it your all!

1980 – 1989: Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You’re colorful at night – and successful during the day.

1990 – 1999: With you anything goes! You’re grunge one day, ghetto fabulous the next. It’s all good!

Those that know me well will laugh. . . I didn’t trick the answers they were my real first answers.

Self-Checkout

I saw a post on Anandtech and I answered with this story. ..

I like the self-checkout since you only have to check out yourself not anyone else.
If you consider time saved depending on the regular lines versus checking yourself out that may be incentive enough.

Of course there are times like yesterday when my wife strolled into Albertson’s at a quarter till 7:00. She merrily went to shopping for the few quick items we needed to pickup for a meeting at 7:00, but when she goes to check out. The lines are outrageously long down the aisles and around the corner. . . What happened? . . .

(Well about 5 months ago Albertson’s decided to save some money) They installed 8 used self cashier stations they moved from the D/FW area. . . (The welcome screens had local info to the DFW metroplex untill a few weeks later) But yesterday something happened. . . guess what the self check out lanes called in sick! ha ha, well something technical happened and they were all broken at the same time. . . Genius. . .Well Albertson’s now had 2 cashiers to deal with an regular evening rush when they would have 6 to 8 cashiers before the automated checkouts were installed (sorry human cashiers) I guess they were moved to other positions or lost their jobs. . .

Long Story Short, my wife walked out without any of the snacks for the meeting our group had to go hungry last night and Albertson’s lost $10 to $15 sale. .. not much, but that was just us.

Our local Wal Mart’s don’t seem to function under this same assumption (Albertson’s Management used). . . I think all 16 of the Wal Mart Self Checking stations could be broken and they would still have plenty of cashiers. . . but they just opened 2 more SuperCenter’s so maybe that’s helped alleviate the rush of customers. . .

Connections

It’s interesting how connections work. . .

like I was browsing brazospointe.com cause Greg, was Misty’s youth minister in Texas and he officiated at our wedding . . . from their I linked to www.picksblog.blogspot.com and www.stunz.blogspot.com which are Greg’s blog and Tommy Stunz a man I’ve never met. . . but since Misty is my wife and Greg was her Youth minister, here I am writing about and reading someone’s blog I never met. . . and you know what it was good. . .

“Sometimes this feels like a narcissistic pursuit. Who in the world would want to read anything I write, especially when itÒ€ℒs about me or what I think.”

Okay I know this is simplistic, but ditto . . .

“What is it?

WordPress is a state-of-the-art semantic personal publishing platform with a focus on aesthetics, web standards, and usability. What a mouthful. WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.

More simply, WordPress is what you use when you want to work with your blogging software, not fight it.

The Day of the LORD

Zechariah 14:4

4That’s the Day he’ll take his stand on the Mount of Olives, facing Jerusalem from the east. The Mount of Olives will be split right down the middle, from east to west, leaving a wide valley. Half the mountain will shift north, the other half south. (THE MESSAGE)

Zechariah 14:9

9GOD will be king over all the earth, one GOD and only one. What a Day that will be! (THE MESSAGE)

And so do not be suprised, for God is not slack concerning His promises. Joshua 23:14

They will come to pass.

And on that day Romans 14:11

Such a day is unfathomable to me at this point, but if God fulfilled His promises down to the
A. He would be born of a virgin Isaiah 7:14
B. He would be Born in Bethlehem Micah 5:2
C. Many Children would perish and there would be weeping in Ramah Jeremiah 31:15
D. Where the Messiah would Grow up? Nazareth. Matthew 2:21
E. He would flee to Egypt and be called out of there. Hosea 11:1
F. He would enter Jerusalem on a foal(donkey) Zechariah 9:9
G. He would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver Jeremiah 19:1-13
I. His betrayer’s price would be used to buy a potters field Zechariah 11:12-13
J. He would pierced for our transgressions Zechariah 12:10
K. His garments were divided Psalms 22:18

And many more, you can rest assured that His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives and it will be split asunder, just as He promised.
